Rob and Siân are both watercolour artists.

Rob studied for his degree in Fine Art at Exeter College of Art. He has been successfully selling through local galleries for over 20 years. His work reflects the fleeting changes of light on Dartmoor and the South Hams coastline.

Siân’s work reflects her natural love of flowers, leaves and all things botanical. Her work also sells through local galleries. Examples of their work can be viewed on the Moor to Sea Arts website.

Course Details

Beginners and those new to painting will be taught all the basics–which paints, brushes and paper to use, how to mix colour, lay down a wash, plan and compose your picture through practical hands on exercises.

More experienced painters will have the opportunity to develop their own style where the tutors will provide individual tuition and encouragement tailor made to the students own requirements.

There will be a limited number of students per course. Tuition and lunch is included in the cost. Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available all day. Information on materials to bring, a list of local accommodation and directions will be sent with confirmation of booking.

Lukesland provides an ideal setting for watercolour courses. The Old Billiard Room transforms into a comfortable, well equipped, extremely practical space for studio based work. The grounds provide ample subject matter for a very wide range of watercolour techniques, while the location allows easy access to Dartmoor and the coast.
