Lukesland's new tea room ready to go!

Finishing touches are being made to the new servery at Lukesland Gardens, ready for the first opening of Spring 2019 on 31st March. On Sunday 24th March the weather was absolutely perfect for the opening of Lukesland's new kitchen extension and with this early spring the garden was full of colour.  We had about 70 friends and supporters of Lukesland, including the builders who constructed the new kitchen extension and our gardeners who keep Lukesland looking so lovely. We also had representatives of local tourist information centres, local newspapers and magazines, who help to publicise our openings. Toby Buckland, who does the Radio Devon gardening programme on Sundays, cut a 'ribbon' of ivy, twined with forget-me-nots and primroses (with secateurs, of course).  The room is named after architect Max Pugh, a relative of the Howell family, who designed the new kitchen and several other projects over the years. We are absolutely thrilled with how it has turned out and look forward to welcoming the public to it this Sunday.
