Lukesland’s last opening of 2026 will be on15th November, from 11am to 5pm.
Golden autumn
Joanna Haigh will be demonstrating how she makes her beautiful linocuts which are on display in the tea room this season. Garden visitors are welcome to come and watch and have a chat with Joanna over a cuppa and a piece of cake.
A drop-in session for garden visitors to come and listen/sing and find out what Singing Mamas is all about.
Hope has been leading Singing Mamas at Lukesland since September 2024. Aimed at supporting women's perinatal health and wellbeing the songs are easy to learn lullabies, harmonies and seasonal songs from around the world. The sessions run on Monday mornings 10-11.30 in term time - up in the woods at the Forest School site when weather allows, and inside in the tearoom when not. This session will be on the old tennis court lawn, up the steps from the tearoom.

Watch expert local woodturner John Montgomery create beautiful objects out of wood from the Lukesland woodpile.
Come and admire the beautiful cars of the Devon Vintage Car Club, parked in front of Lukesland House. Normal entry applies.
Artist Emma Lamb will be demonstrating how she makes her amazing 3D printworks in the tea room - come and watch and have a chat with Emma over a cuppa and a piece of cake.
Give your mother a visit to a garden full of flowers - magnolias, camellias, early rhododendrons - followed by delicious home-baking by the fire in the tea room.
Our big magnolia seems to have enjoyed this wet winter and is flowering earl, along with many other Spring shrubs.. So we have decided to open a week earlier than planned. on Sunday 8th and Wednesday 11th March to give everyone a chance to see it at its glorious best. We will then open as normal on Suns, Weds and Bank Hols 11am to 5pm till 7th June.

With mild temperatures forecast the tree will hopefully still be looking beautiful on Mothering Sunday 15th March, our original first opening date, but this gives everyone more opportunities to see it in all its pink glory!

We are once again delighted to host the magnificent machines of the Devon Vintage Car Club to Lukesland on our last opening of the Spring Season, 8th June.
Our exhibiting artist this season, Louise Scammell, will be in the tea room druing the opening on Sunday 1st June, showing fascinating videos of how she sketches underwater, and allowing you to have a go!
The Ashburton Community Folk Orchestra will be playing some lively tunes informally in the garden on Sunday 18th May from 2pm . Normal garden entry applies.
This season’s talented artist, Louise Scammell, will be demonstrating how she makes her beautiful prints ( including underwater sketching) in the servery at Lukesland betweem 14.00 and 16.00 on Sunday 13th April. There will even be a chance to have a go!

After the interval young Exeter-based musician Nina Savicevic will play a programme of Chopin, Prokoviev and Schubert
